ABOUT US
After being a fulltime beachgirl in our family business on the Belgian coast for the biggest part of my life, I decided it was time for me to start my own business. I have always been passionate about food.
My granddad was a chef and my father followed in his footsteps.
That love for food was passed on to me as well.
I really enjoy cooking and I always prefer cooking with simple, yet delicious ingredients.
My biggest passion in life is travelling.
Because I worked on the beach for 7 very intense months a year, I had some time left to go out and see the world.
It makes me very proud to say that I’ve seen a lot of this wonderful world and had a chance to have a taste of all the different cultures on this planet.
These two passions combined perfectly into what has become Mangiamo, which is italian for ‘Let’s Eat’.
My ultimate goal is to bring some of the beloved italian ‘Dolce Far Niente’ to my belgian hometown.
The dishes will be simple and made with pure ingredients.
That’s what I love most about italian cuisine, a nice olive oil and some fresh, juicy tomatoes and you’re halfway to a delicous dish already.
All our pasta will be homemade and is all vegan.
We have white pasta, whole-wheat pasta, glutenfree pasta, and even ‘courgetti’, a sort of spaghetti made from zucchini, so we always have whatever your heart desires. The fresh sauces vary from a classic bolognese or amatriciana, to a vegetarian cheese sauce, or a vegan veggie sauce.
Other than that, we have weekly suggestions that vary from a comfy lasagna in winter, to a fresh pasta salad in summer. Next to this, we always have fresh soup or nice crispy ciabatta with classic italian meat or cheese. We always have homemade desserts and in weekends we’ll serve some italian inspired cakes as well. And of course, the wine and the antipasti we serve was all chosen with love from all corners of Italy.
